Drips is a DeFi application built on Ethereum that facilitates flexible funding for open-source projects through a unique system of dependency management. Users can create a "Drip List" to send funds to multiple GitHub repositories or Ethereum addresses, allowing support for up to 200 projects simultaneously. As project maintainers claim their funds, they can also designate dependencies, enabling a portion of their earnings to be automatically forwarded to related projects, thereby creating a global dependency tree. Additionally, projects can configure splits for their earnings, ensuring that funds are distributed monthly among maintainers and dependencies, enhancing the sustainability of the open-source ecosystem.

Recommendations

When an address receives funds on Drips, the owner of that address needs to collect them before they are transferred to their wallet. Exchanges typically offer non-custodial addresses specifically for receiving ERC-20 tokens on various networks, but offer no way to sign contract interactions from those addresses. As a result, funds sent on Drips to such a custodial, exchange-managed address may be unrecoverable.
